This wonderful photo is a publicity image from the Classic Hollywood Horror Film, Todd Browning's "MARK OF THE VAMPIRE." It is signed by Carol Borland who played Luna, an early prototype of on-screen female vampires.
She signed this photo for me
when I attended the Famous Monsters Convention in Washington, D.C. in 1993.
For fans of vintage Hollywood Horror, Borland's signature on "Mark of the Vampire" images as her character Luna is a must-have! Her role established the look and creepiness of many female vampires to follow throughout the genre. But SHE was the Garbo of female vampires.
I have been a life-long collector of Hollywood and pop culture memorabilia, but must now part with some of my treasures. I certainly hope this fantastic photo will find a loving home.
